KEVER YOSEF
"And the bones of Joseph, which the children of Israel had brought up out of Egypt, they buried in Shechem, in the parcel of ground which Jacob bought from the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem, for a hundred pieces of money; and they became the inheritance of the children of Joseph.” [Yehoshua, 24,32]
Kever Yosef Hatzadik has been lying in the city of Shechem for over 3,300 years.
We know that, for at least 2,000 years, Jews have been visiting the grave to pray at the holy site. Our sages have compared its importance to that of the Machpelah Cave in Chevron, and the Beit Hamikdash in Jerusalem.
For 10 years, from 2001 to 2011, the grave lay waste, after being burnt and destroyed. Visiting the site was near impossible.
Thanks to the actions of Minhelet Kever Yosef, the grave and its site were restored and reopened to the public for visit under the supervision and coordinated with the IDF.
Minhelet Kever Yosef cares for the daily keeping of the site, basic infrastructures, water and electricity, beautiful “hachnasat orchim”. Prayer services are organized. We deal with complicated logistics gladly, all for the welfare of visitors and worshipers.

KFAR AWARTA – GIVAT PINCHAS
"And Eleazar the son of Aharon died; and they buried him in the hill of Pinchas his son, which was given to him in Mount Ephraim.”
[Yehoshua, 24,33]
The name of “Kfar Awarta” attests to the fact that the ancient way from Jerusalem to Shechem passed through its location.
In the book “Sefer Hadorot”, it is determined that the name used to be “Ozarta”, after Eleazar Hacohen.
The village is located south east of Shechem. Three ancient burial sites are found there, holy and magnificent, of the Cohanim Gedolim and the Seven Elders:
Kever Eleazar Ben Aharon Hacohen
Kever Itamar Ben Aharon Hacohen
The Cave of The Seventy Elders
Important dates for visiting the sites:
Rosh Chodesh Av, date of Aharon's passing, we celebrate the yartzeit of his two sons, Eleazar and Itamar.
The 5th of Shvat, we celebrate the yartzeit of the Seventy Elders, as written in the Shulchan Aruch, (Or Hachaim,580), “On the 5th of Shvat, died the Elders that were in the days of Yehoshua”. (See also Talmud Bavli, Shabbat, 105, the reason why they all died in the same period).

KFAR KIFEL CHARET – TIMNAT CHERES
" And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died, being one hundred and ten years old. And they buried him within the border of his inheritance in Timnat Cheres on the mountain of Ephraim, to the north of Mount Gaash.” (Shoftim, 2, 8-9)
The name “Charet” comes from “Cheres”, an ancient name. Timna is the name of the district. The romans used to call it “the district of Timna”.
The village is located north of the city of Ariel, in Samaria. It holds three burial sites, ancient and holy, of the leaders of the generation that entered Eretz Israel:
Kever Yehoshua Bin Nun
Kever Caleb Ben Yefune
Kever Nun
Important dates for visiting the sites:
The 26th of Nissan, we celebrate Yehoshua Bin Nun's yartzeit, as written in the Shulchan Aruch, (Or Hachaim,580), “On the 26th of Nissan, died Yehoshua Bin Nun”.
